Brent crude futures steadied above $98 per barrel on Tuesday as traders weighed the possible release of strategic crude reserves by the US and its allies to counter the impact of crippling sanctions against Russia on energy supply. The US is reportedly considering tapping 30 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, with an equivalent amount from a group of other countries. The UK benchmark rallied nearly 8% in the previous session as Western nations imposed more sanctions on Russia, raising fears of supply disruptions from one of the world’s largest oil and gas producers. Companies including BP and Shell also announced plans to exit Russian operations, while importers of Russian oil faced payment and delivery difficulties. Meanwhile, OPEC+ will meet on Wednesday to discuss output policy, where it is expected to stick to its plan of moderate supply increases despite market turmoil brought by the invasion.

Giá xăng lên cao nhất từ trước tới nay
Tăng 540-550 đồng mỗi lít từ 15h hôm nay, giá xăng đang tiến sát 27.000 đồng và ghi nhận mức cao nhất từ trước tới nay.
Sau điều chỉnh của liên Bộ Công Thương - Tài chính, mỗi lít xăng E5 RON 92 từ 15h ngày 1/3 giá 26.070 đồng (tăng 540 đồng); RON 95 là 26.830 đồng (tăng 550 đồng).

Đây là lần tăng thứ 6 liên tiếp của giá xăng trong nước từ giữa tháng 12/2021 đến nay. Như vậy, giá xăng đã tiến sát ngưỡng 27.000 đồng một lít.
Giá các mặt hàng dầu đều tăng. Dầu hoả là 19.970 đồng một lít, tăng 470 đồng. Dầu diesel là 21.310 đồng một lít, tăng 510 đồng. Dầu madut là 18.460 đồng một kg, tăng 530 đồng.
So với cuối tháng 12 năm ngoái, mỗi lít xăng RON95 đắt thêm 4.030 đồng; E5 RON92 là 3.990 đồng, dầu diesel đắt hơn 3.980 đồng; dầu hoả 3.650 đồng và dầu madut thêm 2.720 đồng.

Tại kỳ điều hành lần này, liên bộ ngừng trích từ Quỹ bình ổn giá với các mặt hàng xăng, dầu diesel, dầu hoả. Riêng dầu madut mức trích vào quỹ là 300 đồng một kg.
Còn mức chi Quỹ bình ổn giá với mặt hàng xăng RON 95 là 220 đồng một lít, tăng 110 đồng so với đợt điều hành ngày 21/2. Xăng E5 RON92, dầu diesel, dầu hoả và madut vẫn giữ nguyên mức chi quỹ lần lượt là 250 đồng, 300 đồng và 0 đồng.
Theo nhà điều hành, thị trường thế giới tiếp tục diễn biến phức tạp, nhất là xung đột giữa Nga và Ukraine và nguồn cung xăng dầu bị ảnh hưởng do nhu cầu lên ở các nước triển khai biện pháp phục hồi kinh tế. Bình quân giá thành phẩm xăng dầu thế giới từ ngày 21/2 đến nay tăng 2,7-3,75% tuỳ loại. Chẳng hạn, mỗi thùng xăng RON92 (loại dùng pha chế E5 RON92) ở mức 111,345 USD một thùng; RON95 là 114,207 USD, tăng 3,2%.

Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba launched a scathing attack on firms still doing business with Russia, saying that some major oil companies could find themselves on the wrong side of history.
“The world will judge them accordingly. And history will judge them accordingly,” he told CNBC’s Hadley Gamble in an interview Monday.
A couple oil giants are cutting ties to Russia. Kuleba’s comments came as Shell said that it intends to exit its joint ventures with Russian gas giant Gazprom and its related entities. Energy giant BP announced Sunday that it was offloading its 19.75% stake in Rosneft, a Russian-controlled oil company, potentially hitting the British oil major with a costly $25 billion charge.
Other oil companies are being pressured to follow suit, with Kuleba mentioning France’s TotalEnergies and the U.S. giant ExxonMobil. TotalEnergies has a stake in Russian gas producers Novatek and Yamal, while Exxon has its own links to Rosneft.
When asked directly about these two firms, Kuleba responded: “I can call, urge, them and all other businesses. If they want to save peace, if they want to save lives of civilians, they must stop making business with Russia.”
