Okay okay! I agree! Sorry @Martin_Hwang ! But we should wait for something new. I wonder where Iris is?
Be patient. It’s the weekend and they deserve a break. Let’s continue this conversation after we hear from Rebecca or Ms. Karol.
Your words of praise are really “deep”.
Oh, It’s great when you keep continuing and developing your Mom’s footsteps by your way.
And yes, as you said about “Homeland”, there is the part of “Home” inside. It’s always in my plan.
In talking about the cultures, we can discover many things in the ocean internet. However, I think it would be much more intersting if I could learn more from original peoples who were born or grew up there. Because they have the genetic culture in mind.
Hi @ABC456 ,
If only I could tell you more about Malaysia. However, my family moved to Finland when I was 5 years old and most of what I know about my homeland is recounted to me by my mother, who is a science teacher and met my father during the wars in Southeast Asia. I know your country, Vietnam, has also experienced these terrible invasions. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to live in the country of my birth.
The last time I returned to my homeland was 5 years ago and I think a lot has changed since then. I hope I will have more interesting things to tell you on my next visit.
What about the place where I am living now?
Finland is a country that is well-known for its delicious food. While the cuisine of Finland may not be as well-known as the cuisines of some of its neighbors, such as Sweden or Russia, it is still worth exploring. They are also considered to be one of the most happiest nations in the world.
Finnish culture is based on the principle of sisu, which is a term that is difficult to translate into English. It is a combination of courage, determination, and perseverance. Finns believe that if you work hard and never give up, you will eventually succeed. This is a very important value in a country that is often covered in snow and has long, dark winters.
Finnish people are also very proud of their country and culture. They have a strong sense of community and are always willing to help others. Finns are also known for their sense of humor and love of jokes.
Overall, Finnish culture is unique and interesting. It is based on hard work, determination, and community spirit.
If you have the chance, you should try the karjalanpiirakka, or karelian pie. This traditional dish is made of a rye crust filled with rice porridge and then baked. The karjalanpiirakka is a popular snack or breakfast food in Finland, and can be found in most restaurants and cafes.
That is all I can say. When I have more time, I will tell you about some interesting things about this country.
Oh my, Fredi! If you had more time, you could write an entire article on that! This is already a great essay!
Haha @Catherine Thanks for the compliment! I think that’s just my personal opinion. It encourages me to write, and you know, our esteemed professor is also the kind of person who writes very long.
Hello @Isabella_Fredi , have a great weekend. You write very well. But I remember you study biology, right?
Hi @Vo_HaThanh ! I’m glad to see that you remember me. I’m a graduate student at HiLIFE - Institute of Biotechnology.
You and @Bao_Ha were one of the people who asked Lady Bear a question a few days ago, so I’m not sure if I remember the answer. Anyway, I really enjoyed your writing style in your post. I’m Vietnamese, and I hope to visit Malaysia on a longer trip one day. Would love to be friends!
Thank you @Vo_HaThanh . That was a really interesting TED Talk by Professor. Even though my question was heavily biology-based, she still helped me resolve my issue I’m really glad to have met you.
How interesting that you told about Finnish Culture! Really admired your story.
Sisu, i wonder how they, finnish peoples, can build and keep developing it for long time in this changing world? By some rules, or sth else?
But I agree that an ethnic who live in many long dark and cold winters must be strong enough to face it all.
I will discover finnish morning with karjalanpiirakka, or karelian pie, and coffee. Such a lovely way to discover
About Malaysia, I was there in exactly 20 years ago. I was so impressional in seeing the Petronas twin tower and the huge complex of Genting. It’s not all, but it’s really big things in global scale at that moment.
Thanks @Isabella_Fredi for your time!
And I hope we have more time for more conservations.
Have a nice weekend for you and all friends!
Best.
Thank you, @Vo_HaThanh . I appreciate it when Lady Bear responds to my questions about her time here. That was a really sensitive time, with all the chaos created by Mr. Nipper. I’ll take some time to review her previous topics to see what he actually did.
C’mon @Catherine , it’s the weekend already! Let them enjoy their days off before they start their own trip.
Hey @Catherine,
If you ever need someone to talk to, I’ll be at the library. I have some things I think you’ll find interesting. Let’s meet up after school today!
Are you with Iris? If so, I would feel more at ease. But I’m also curious about what you said. Well… I’ll come!
Ehh… okay! See you later @Catherine ! Iris hasn’t been here since yesterday. I think she’s at Ms. Karol’s house with Rebecca. They’re leaving next week, but don’t worry, she’s still keeping an eye on what we’re discussing here.
